Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Volunteer

About Bitcoin Policy UK:
Bitcoin Policy UK is a leading organisation focused on promoting Bitcoin education, environmental sustainability, and sound policy development in the United Kingdom. Our mission is to foster a thriving Bitcoin ecosystem by working closely with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders. We aim to create a supportive environment for Bitcoin adoption, innovation, and growth, while addressing the environmental and educational challenges associated with the technology.
We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate, and visionary volunteer CEO, resident in the UK, to lead our organisation, drive strategic growth, and champion Bitcoin initiatives across the country. The time commitment is two days per week, initially this will be on a 1 year contract with the option to renew upon mutual agreement. There is a potential for this to progress to a full-time paid position in the future.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for Bitcoin Policy UK, working closely with the Board of Directors to establish and execute long-term goals, plans, and policies.
Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the organisation, building relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, industry partners, and the broader Bitcoin community.
Drive initiatives to promote Bitcoin education, environmental sustainability, and responsible policy development in the UK, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the local and global Bitcoin landscape, identifying opportunities and challenges for the organisation and the industry.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organisation.
Attract, retain, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Monitor and evaluate the organisation's impact and effectiveness, adjusting strategies and operations as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements:
Must be a resident in the United Kingdom.
Demonstrated passion for and deep understanding of Bitcoin, with a commitment to promoting its adoption and growth in the UK.
Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within the policy, environmental, or education sectors. The successful applicant will ideally have C-Suite and specifically CFO and management experience in the private sector.
Strong track record of working with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organisation effectively and inspire others.
Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of the UK's political, regulatory, and legislative landscape related to Bitcoin.
